Struvite Remover

There are two methods for applying Struvite Remover: 

• Circulation method (around 2 hours) 
  1. Add warm water to the IBC, then connect the pump 
  2. Position the treatment pipe higher than the struvite-affected pipe to help it fill completely, a loop arrangement can achieve this 
  3. Start the pump and circulate water from the IBC through a return pipe into the IBC 
  4. Add Struvite Remover gradually, don’t dump it in all at once or into cold water, as this affects dissolution 
  5. Circulate for at least 2 hours, then rinse with fresh water for at least 2 water changes to clear any remaining deposits

• Soaking method (around 5 hours, for when there’s no access to a pump
  1. Follow steps 1–4 of the circulation method above 
  2. Lower the pipe into the IBC, making sure it’s filled with the Struvite Remover solution 
  3. Leave to sit for at least 5 hours 
  4. Remove the pipe and jet wash to clear any remaining deposits 

Dilution: mix 20% Struvite Remover with clean water, for example, 20kg of product to 80kg of water for a 100-litre pipe. 

Waste disposal: Mix the struvite waste solution very well daily. Divide the struvite solution into 40 parts and add one of the 40 parts slowly into the AD plant on daily basis (in large AD plant ~3000 m3 this is equivalent to adding back 110L of struvite solution waste per day). Adjust AD pH if necessary.
